The Clove Hitch

The clove hitch is, in my opinion, a much underused knot(hitch). When used to attach to belay points its speed of tying and ease of adjustment means that a belay can be correctly set up in a fraction of the time that would be needed if something like the figure of eight were used. My own record (!) is placing two wired nuts and clipping into them with clove hitches and having the belay ready in under two minutes.
